Fun with Watercolor

The following pieces are watercolor on thick textured paper. They are simply a few examples of the fun things I can do with watercolor but if one catches your eye let me know and we can agree on a price. I am also happy to customize a future piece for you if you have something in mind. I specialize in acrylic and prisma pencil, but am also comfortable working in watercolor, graphite, or charcoal. If you have any questions please email me kimberlysmith670@msn.com,  call me at (435) 720-3358, text me or facebook me.

I appreciate any and all feedback so feel free to leave comments. ;)

View of Heaven

This painting is of my Grandma Julie and what I imagine she looks like in Heaven. This piece was a gift for my Mother and it stands about 2ft tall.

Ben's Heroes

This piece was a comission for my brother of his top 6 heroes. Since 2 of the 6 men are very close to me ( My Dad and Grandpa) I was really picky about where I got my references because I wanted them to look how I personally see them. This was a fun piece and very likely the most faces I've ever put on one canvas.

Expectation

This piece is called "Expectation" and is probally one of my favorite pieces that I've ever created. It sybolizes the common occurence of shallowness in dating. Obviously we all know that Raggedy Ann and Andy are compatible not Andy and Barbie but some people aren't concerned with compatibility as long as their partner is "hot". Here Raggedy Ann is sitting sadly on a shelf alone surrounded with unkind descriptions like "Chubby", "ugly" and "too tall" while Andy is trying to hit on Barbie. Barbie is suurounded by her own collection of words consisting of "38DD", "Sexy", and "nice body". This has atleast three layers of sybolism to it and is a piece that many can relate to.

Past the surface

The following is a copy of my photo collage as well as a close up of a few of my beautiful models. The piece is titled "Past the suface" and is depicting girls without makeup with a word or phrase describing their innner beauty. This was a successful piece and through this prodject I was able to show off the natural beauty of 36 girls.

Rock

These paintings were from my most recent comission. My friend Peggy had me do these for her music room; they depict her favorite rock bands either by face or by symbol. Each painting is on a 20 x 36 inch canvas.
